Sailing Location

Top Tier Sailing School is an American Sailing Association (ASA) training school located at Penn’s Landing Marina on the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands (BVI). Tortola is a gateway to all the wonders of the BVI, as it’s near the Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport and it’s easily accessible by ferry from St. Thomas.

Our BVI sailing team includes passionate, ASA-certified sailing experts with years of sailing experience all over the world and leagues of nautical miles.

 

Your ASA-accredited course is set in the “Sailing Capital of the World” amidst the picturesque islands and clear waters of this paradise. When you take a course from Top Tier Sailing School, you’ll experience all that the peaceful British Virgin Islands has to offer!

TACK DADDY

IC24 KEELBOAT

A keelboat is a type of sailboat characterized by having a fixed keel, which is a fin-like extension that extends downward from the hull into the water. They’re commonly used for day-sailing and performance sailing and racing.

 

Beginner and overview lessons are held aboard Tack Daddy, a modified J/24, the world’s most popular keelboat class. Its new, larger cockpit area allows for up to five guests to fit comfortably
on deck. Learn basic keelboat and sailing techniques while you enjoy the ocean views on this fast, agile keelboat.

SQUIRT

22' RIB

A RIB (rigid inflatable boat) is a vessel that combines the characteristics of a traditional rigid-hulled boat with inflatable buoyancy tubes. Our RIB boat is a versatile BVI sailing boat commonly used for recreational, commercial, and military purposes.

 

Squirt is used as a chase boat for Top Tier Sailing School and features new tubes and a Yamaha 150hp engine.
