Sailing in the BVI is a remarkable experience. With so many amazing places to visit, the possibilities are almost endless. While a large part of your training will be to use the current weather to determine the best destination and course for each day of sailing, we do have a sample itinerary to give you an idea of what to expect during your week and some of the great places you will be visiting during your course.
DAY 1 & 2: TORTOLA
Your week will begin on Tortola, the heartbeat of the BVI. Sandy beaches, a wide selection of restaurants and every type of shopping make this island the perfect start to your adventure.
DAY 3: COOPER ISLAND
A visit to the Cooper Island Beach Club will satisfy all aspects of your Caribbean experience. A renowned restaurant, a vibrant brewery and rum bar and a boutique stocked with unique finds make a stay on this beautiful island unforgettable.
DAY 4: VIRGIN GORDA
Home of the extraordinary North Sound where visits to Bitter End Yacht Club, Saba Rock and Leverick Bay are a must. Exploring the stunning natural wonders of The Baths is a unique swimming and snorkeling experience.
DAY 5: NORTH SOUND AND OIL NUT BAY
Journey out beyond North Sound and experience the natural beauty of Oil Nut Bay and it’s lovely marina and resort. Sail past Sir Richard Branson’s famous Necker Island as you continue to hone and practice your sailing skills amongst many famous and breath-taking islands.
DAY 6: JOST VAN DYKE
A remarkable Caribbean vibe fills the bays of this lively island. The world-famous Foxy’s and Soggy Dollar bars lead the list of authentic BVI gathering places, while several quiet bays round out the many options available to enjoy Jost Van Dyke.
DAY 7: NORMAN ISLAND
Wonderful dining at the Pirates Bight is a highlight of our stay in this beautiful bay but it’s the famous Willy T, a floating bar and restaurant, that is a must-visit on any BVI itinerary.
